Why do I want to be a Guru? I have been in Customer Support roles for over 10 years in Ireland and before that, I spent almost 5 years in New York as a waitress and bartender. When your income depends on tips and gratuities, I found I learned all about Customer Service even faster, and bonus - that I loved it!
I find there is nothing better than being that person that someone can call for advice and resolution, whether they be customers or colleagues. I really enjoy problem solving and challenges, being resourceful and not a robot at the other end of the line. I find in this day and age, some companies customer support would leave you feeling you're interacting with the IVR/robot, I use the personal and human approach. I love learning new things, starting off as a novice then becoming an expert and giving that "Wow" factor, educating customers on how they can expand and get even more from their service.
And while I am solving a customers issue, I also enjoy building a rapport with that customer. My aim on every interaction I have is to resolve the issue and have that customer not only thank me for my assistance, but mention it to a friend. This is what I believe to be an all round positive customer experience which turns customers into promoters, which is what every company needs and wants.
I would love the opportunity to work for Shopify and become a Guru. From what I have researched, it seems to be a very impressive growing business that generates positive reviews as top ranked leading online shop builder and is also responsible for helping businesses process $14 billion worth of sales, which is incredible. I would love to become a part of this company, I feel I would be a great fit and I have a lot to give.
